Archie Patrick was born in British Columbia, Carrier Nation. The artist had Toby Patrick, his grandfather as his mentor in North West Coast carving style. Together, they worked on carving bowls, masks, wall plaques and totem poles. In 2009, Patrick travelled to Long Plains, Manitoba to help complete a 25-foot totem pole which was being raised in recognition of Canadaโs Residential School survivors.
Also, in 2009, the artist graduated from Vancouverโs Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Programme taught by Dan Wallace, and established Haida/Kwakwakaโwaku artist.
The artist has been regularly carving for Gallery Indigena In Stratford, Ontario as well as for our Inukshuk Gallery on Granville Island in Vancouver, B.C. Archie brings us beautifully incised wall art in both red and yellow cedar. His favourite subjects are the eagle, raven, hummingbird and salmon.
